Getting back to some drawing.

DSC_0061Working  with charcoal, an eraser and inks I made what would be an under-drawing. I selected a drawing from my sketchbook that I would work over the top.DSC_0065

I used charcoal and oil pastel to make this drawing, and some additions using inks on A1 sized paper. My intention was to explore how I might present these drawings. I wanted to use the small drawing as a starting point rather than making a copy, and I wanted to try and bring something of an intuitive quality to the work. I do quite like the outcome. I think the random-ness of the back drawing and the more controlled and contained lines work quite well together, though I think that I could have held back from making additional splatters of ink at the end.
